you should'nt put a supercharger on car with small engines such as ours. plus the civic is front wheel drive . our cars would be better with a turbo not a supercharger. i'd explain it all but im too lazy.

SC's have no lag and instant power. They are much more safe.
They just won't fit in our engine bay.

Please, explain. A turbo is more likely to blow your engine and requires more maintenance.

This may not sound right... but I thought in order to effectively supercharge an engine, you need to have "horsepower to spare" in order to run it.

1. we have small alternators and little Hp. a Supercharger is belt driven wheich means it will strain out little engines. it requires power inorder to make power. superchargers are great for v-6 and up. ever wonder y mustangs are usually SUPERCHARGED???hmmm
2. our cars are FF. When we slam on the gas all out weight is transfered to the back of the car THUS reducing front wheel grip WHICH is bad because that means since theres less grip to the powered wheels it will spin and spin and spiin. "oh superchargers are better cus they give instant boost" NOT neccesarily! another reason y the mustang (Jackass) is super not turbo. they are FR and when u slam on the gas the weight transfer allows the rear powered wheels to grip!
3. what does that turbo have that the super doesent?? TURBO LAG!!! this isnt always good but for our cars it is somewhat. going back to the weight transfer thing.remember? out front wheels get less traction due to weight transfer. since our powered tires have less traction and would likely spin do we really need instant power from a supercharger?? the wheels would spin longer! Now with turbo lag you will atleast give the wheels some time to get its grip before the BOOST kicks in!! supercharge=boost & wheelspin same time Turbo=wheelspin GRIP BOOST
4. PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTT.....................PPPPPPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS STTTTTTTTT........

5. theres more but i cant remember it was written in a magazine cant remember which one but once i get it back ill give u more reasons y turbo is better!!

If a supercharger makes more power than it takes to drive it, then why worry about it taking a little power if it adds a lot?
And as for front wheel drive, how does Pontiac and some other GM's get away with a supercharger on FWD cars?

and the have more space on the engine bay than our cars....
Acura 1.8 (small engine) Vortech System
1999-2000 Honda Si 1.6 Vortech System
Looks to me like it's more the space limitation in the 7th gen Civic that's the problem, other than engine size and front wheel drive and all those other supposed reasons.
