how to remove shifter???checked DIY allready

My question is how do you actually remove the ****? I've seen the DIY's on removing the center console, and the boot itself, but how does the shift **** come off? Does it just unscrew? I think I'm gonna get the MOMO aluminum one

Also, Are the MOMO's hard to install? It says they have a screw. Does that hold well? I'm assuming it just slides over the top then has a set screw you tighten from the side, is that right?

1. Twist the silver ring to the left and it pops off the ****
2. Unsrew the stock ****
3. Screw on the new ****.

EDIT:

I have the MOMO Crystal series ****. I was easy to install.

Just put in the right adapter that comes with it. And screw it on.

You are gonna want to remove that silver ring too. Take out the center console and cut the zip tie off. It pops right out.

Thanks sounds pretty simple!
But why do I want to take the silver ring off? Are you refering to the one on the bottom?
I don't want to change the boot until I get the short throw shifter (later) so why are you suggesting to take it off?

Check out THIS LINK

I'm suggesting you take off that silver ring because it will not connect onto your new ****. It will make a clicking sound everytime the 2 touch.
