Has anyone heard of this???
I saw an auction on ebay that said something about a performance upgrade chip. It claims to be kinda like the Jet Chip or other ECU upgrades. (which is bullshit) It also claims up to 20hp gain. (which is also bullshit) The auction that I saw had the "Buy it Now" option and it was $5. All this "chip" is , is a resistor. (like the ones you'd buy at radioshack) You bend each end and plug in into your air temp. sensor plug. It's supposed to change the reading of the air temperature to trick then engine into giving more fuel or something. I'm not sure.... If you know anything about this please let me know. My friend bought one of these off of e-bay just to see what it would do, and he noticed a little bit of a difference. I'm just wondering if I could measure the resistance on the one that he bought, go buy an identical resistor at Radioshack, and put it on my car. What do you guys thinK?
As far as how well they work, I'm not sure. However, you can definitely go to Radio Shack and buy the same thing for around 25 cents. What those guys on ebay are doing is this.......they go and buy these resistors (peformance upgrade chip) in bulk, so they get them for like 5 cents a piece. Then they sell them for a couple bucks on ebay and charge stupid amounts for shipping. You then end up paying like 5 or 6 bucks for shipping, and then you receive the resistor in an envelope with a 37 cent stamp on it. Go to Radio Shack and save yourself some money.
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

Yeah, I thought it was a scam too. And my friend did receive his in a stamped envelope with a runoff of the directions. (which you could barely read) He didn't really notice a gain, but he did say that one day his car was feelin a bit more sluggish than usual and come to find out, his chip had slipped out of place. So I guess there's some difference. It sure as hell ain't worth no 5 or 6 bucks, but I'll pay 25 cents for it. lol
