APC 7443 LED's dont' work!

Here's what I wrote to the company, after neither bulb lit up, leading to me getting my multitester out to diagnose the problem....

"There are 4 leads total coming into the
bulb apparatus, with 2 going to the same place on the circuit board, and the
other 2 going to individual resistors. The latter 2 are the leads that concern
me. They each have a resistor or two and are then connected to either the LED
ring or the middle LED. However, they are also soldered together (in both the
bulbs I bought). When I covered up one lead with electrical tape and plugged
it in, the parking light in the middle would work. When I covered up the other
lead, the outer ring would work when I turned the turn signal on. However,
having both leads exposed (connected to the harness) would seem to me to cause
a short.

When I plugged it in with all leads attached, it got warm (and no LED's lit
up). After a while, the first resistor going to the middle LED burned up
(turned brown). This is because of the short after the resistor, correct?

I believe this was put here to keep the resistance up when the turn signal is
on, so that the flasher won't flash very quickly.

I confirmed the resistor was blown as I tested the circuit with a multimeter
and it indicated an infinite load (open circuit). I tested the good bulb (with
the unblown resistor) and got an ohm load."

What could be the problem? Other people on the forum said these work fine.

I think sometimes if you put the bulb in and it doesn't work... you need to take it out and turn in around and put it back in
