Ordering oil gauges... quick question

Autometer makes Oil temp gauges from 100-250 Degrees and 140-300. How hot does the oil get (those of you with a gauge)? I'll guess between 200 and 230, but I'm not sure. I'm thinking the one that goes to 300... just so it can be transfered to another car later, but if someone knows an approximate number, say so.
Next, I know I have to T the line for the oil pressure, but where is there a line to tap into? Last one... According to Autometer, you just have a shop weld the temp sensor fitting into the oil pan then screw in the sensor... right? Or is there another place to put it.
Thanks guys.
