my car's brake pad almost about time to run out, about 17000miles on it. This is my first time to change brake since i got my civic, the question is ~do i need to resurface brake rotor? it cost a lot more $ do that, dont know if i need to do that or wait until next one............... help, thanks

i had my brakes done at 16k. yes... i am an agrressive driver... especially on the freeway. so yea.. my brakes worn down fairly rapid. i had my brake job done at my local mechanic in san jose.... he charged me $100 even.. OEM Pads, Resurface Rotors, and labor of course. the pads would run about $30-40 bucks. If i were you, i would resurface the rotors.. "might as well go all out" and be certian you won't deal with squeeks or uneven wear for the next 17k.. plus.. if you DIY.. most places charge only $5 each rotor to resurface.. just 2 screws hold the rotor for our car
