Hrmm.. looks like the muffler made for some other type of vehicle that has duel out tips. That cover on the left will do nothing for performance, if anything its hindering the design of the muffler to work properly by blocking it off. A true open exhaust header setup either by-pass the muffler(s) and cat or both.
Not sure if I like it.. looks kinda ghetto but thats just me. Whateva floats yer boat I say..

For those of you who talked without knowing...hehe...here's how the muffler works. It actually was one of the two mufflers I had on my supercharged thunderbird. It sounds good. Straight pipe, with the cap removed, sounds loud and NASTY. It doesn't help or "hinder' performance. Just sounds really loud and raspy above 4K rpms. The tip is just a twin 2.25" tip. The pic is really crappy, but if you want to call it ghetto, hehe...I can live with that.
Just to clear a couple of things up, flotsamm, I picked up 17rwhp with these mufflers on my thunderbird. I also ran .3 tenths of a second faster at the track in my civic.

I suppose it is on many cars. If you take these and put them on a very high output engine, you would see a HP increase due to the lack of restrictions on exhaust. It's kinda like how you put an aftermarket muffler on a car to get a power gain. Well, this is then next level. If someone told you that on a 100rwhp car you'd get 10rwhp with the muffler and 20rwhp uncapped, that'd be a lie. If they told you that on like a 500hp car, 10 or more extra hp uncapped wouldn't be far fetched.

Ahh I stand corrected.. no worries. Like you said maybe its just a bad pic of the tip.. dunno. I was thinking that the muffler was a plain duel out(likea FlowMaster or sumptin) that you capped off one side of. If it gives you gains then I'm all for it. Now all you need is a remote lever to uncap it for that imtimidation factor.. LOL
