Xenon HID Headlights

Is it possible to install xenon HID headlamps to replace the conventional halogen bulbs using the oem headlight fixtures? Can you also do the same for the oem foglights?

If so:

1). How much does it cost?
2). How difffcult is it to do it?
3). Can it be supported with the current specifications or will adjustments be necessary to perform properly?

1. Around 450 dollars for low beam only 550 for both
2. Plugs right in if u have a nice kit, screw in bulb and mount ballasts
3. You plug ur old plug into the balast and the balast and the balast to the headlight.

I heard that projectors provide weaker and narrower light distribution than the OEM's -- projectors are more for show than optimally functional. Also, since the OEM headlamp casing remains the same, why would the HID beam be more inferior? Wouldn't the opposite hold true because of the brighter light?

Also, I want the "true" white lighting system (i.e., BMW) and not the cheap blue headlight beams that are available to imitate HIDs.

Most of the online accessory dealers have the kits. Most of them use either Phillips or Hella ballasts and bulbs. They aren't hard to find. Just get the H4 type with either brand of electrical parts. This is exactly what the Milkman was telling you on the second post in this thread. There are many threads on this site if you just plug "HID" into the search box and brwose a little.

NO your completly wrong the projectors are only dimmer with the stock lights thats why almost all hid uses projector so that the beam pattern is straight and clean and so it can PROJECT the light better.. Your oem beam patter will be all over the place and ugly.. Also bmw kits are not a white they are a blueish if u want ones that look like a bmw get a 7000k kit, if you what a pure white like on a lexus then get a 5200k kit
