Extra gauges are useful to monitor engine conidtions, which are useful during racing so you know how the engine is running. If you are running turbo or nitrous extra gauges are a must to meaure Boost levels, air to fuel ratio, oil pressure, etc. How did you get to be senior member, probably by posting BS... if you don't have something productive to say keep your mouth shut!

u guys r so funny,i have knowlege of how an internal combustion engine works and to all of u guys with tools and money to buy speed parts, its really a waste of money for not much gain in return but u have to understand the limited possibilty of our engine, its not very efficiently/mechanically adaptable to many parts that we would spend the money on,"some" of u guys really misunderstand the whole concept concerning to horse power and to BLOWN from edmonton (thats in canada right),dont be so judgemental ,this is mickey mouse car were drivin, only thing is worth to spend money on is the look.
Oooops almost forgot..i thought canadians r smarter than american but by readin Mr BLOWN's post,,i feel much better now.

Congratulations, you have the typing skills of an 8 year old and understand cars almost as well as my mom... you truly are blight on humanity, and I pray for your death. I really wish people like yourself would simply crawl back into the hole they came out of and leave civilization alone, because you will never fool us into thinking that your opinion is worth more than the toilet paper I used to wipe my a$$. good day.

There are quite a few people on here that are running Nitrous and a few lucky one's that have FI. And with those upgrades they would want to be able to monitor their engines performance.
I myself want to be able to monitor my engine and I am running NA. One of the biggest things that I miss having in my car is the Volts, I would like to know how my battery is doing when running the stereo and neons with the car not running, as well as things such as temps of my engine, ect ...
So in the end it doesnt make it a waste of money at all, next time try and keep it a bit more low key ok.

would someone please ban this 1955 loser... Learn to type, learn to spell, and learn proper grammar! Your posts have nothing at all to do with this thread. After reading his posts I feel dumber, anyways...
These gauge pods are very interesting to me, I wouldn't mind getting a voltmeter, air/fuel ratio, and maybe a clock for now. If I add a turbo later I could get rid of the clock and add a boost gauge. Where can I find this new gauge pod, and does it come color matched to factory interior colors?

I want a voltmeter because I have lots of amps, DVD player, LCD, etc... I have a voltmeter on my cap right now but its in my trunk so its hard to see when I'm driving It would be cool to see the volts when I got my bass pumpin to make sure my voltage won't drop. Yeah I think an analog clock might be cool. I don't even have a clock in my car right now because my DVD/CD player doesn't have one, it doesnt even have a radio which is kinda getto, but I can play DVD's so it makes up for it. I might get XM some day... Anyways, I don't know if I like the way those carbon fiber gauges look, even though I have carbon fiber everywhere. They might look better in person rather than in the pic. I was looking at the ultra lite gauges actually... hey what size gauges does this new pod hold, I don't think anyone mentioned that! Lets keep on topic here folks!

how many time u guys have to be told our civic is a whimp in disguise? i been bombarded about my typin and grammar so i am slow in that department but u guys cant deny the fact a civic is a gas saver, u guys can spend all the money u want and still have to feel sorry for urself later,,, i am tellin u guys in advance so u cant say no one had told ya u so.now leave me alone b4 i boot u out.
ill take a stab at this one.
1955, im not here to argue with you, but your comments are petty and always get petty comments in response. you are no longer talkign about gauges but teh civic in general. take it to another thread, please.
about gauges, we have gauges stock, and often tims dont use them anyways. having a tach is not about need, many cars dont have them!
having a volt meter is not about need, its about want. it doesnt make my car faster, but nt slowe either. the civic itself has nothing to do with it.
air fuel ratio gauge doesnt make me faster, nor slower. its just eye candy. the question is, is that eye candy worth teh cost of the gauge? not to me. but to others, it is. and those people go out and invest in it. they dont run volt meters, but i do.
the performance value of the civic is a moot point abotu these guages. the proper lame argument to bring up in this thread is about how ricy it is to run gages, not a performance factor.
but its all whether or not WE can justify the money! i can certainly justify spending $36 on my volt meter, if you cant, then dont bug me about it! i didnt bug YOU about not wanting it........

1 word about arguing about this gauge ****.....RETARDED....jeez.....if a person wants a gauge then shut the f**k up and stop posting stupid *** ****. i don't sit in your throat and go off the deep end saying off the wall stuff when you (1955) say you want this and that for your ride. just sit down, eat some french fries, and get a f**kin life.

The pillars are differant between coupes and sedans right?
Any word if they are going to make the gauge bezzles that have the option of putting guages in them? Those are pretty cool
