Using Nitrous, any good tips?

Im getting an NX Nitrous kit installed next week and wanted some advice from anyone with experience. Maybe some dos and donts or some tips to keep my engine safe from harm so I can keep spraying for a good couple years to come. Thanks for any help.

Don't hit the rev limiter...you'll detonate your engine. If your spraying when you hit the rev limit, it will cut your fuel supply, run you lean and probably put a rod through your block. If your worried they do sell "window" kits. the window kit will allow you to set your n2o to spray in a particular rpm window. Say you want to spray from 2k to 6500 then you set it and it will only spray when WOT from 2-6500 and then stop etc...keeps you safe if your not paying attention.

spray whenever you want, any gear, just not before 3k and don't hit redline. use at least 93 octane gas and don't do more then 50 shot.

Does the rev limiter work by shutting off fuel flow or by dropping cylinder ignition (ala MSD)???

What about an aftermarket clutch? I would guess using nitrous alot might burn it out? I would just feel alot better with one in though.

n2o is fine on stock internals, just keep it at about a 50 shot, i've heard people spraying 75 stock but you might want a piggyback fuel controller. As for a clutch, yea you'll want a clutch. stock will work for a while, but it'll burn out quick. Plus you are going to need I/H/E to let your engine breathe. Only spraying in first would be impossible unless you had it on a remote switch. Most kits use WOT to activate the solenoid, if you go WOT in first you will tach in 1/2 second and smack the rev limiter and bye-bye block. Dont spray in 5th, it's a weak gear. Rev limit cuts the fuel flow, so if you wanted to defeat that you could chip it, make it tach to 8..9..10k.
