Hey guys, I've got the problem of it hanging too low...I'd like to get it welded, but nobody will hoist my car (lowered + skirts = death).
anyways, where can I get smaller hangers? Do you mean the rubber things? Even if I get smaller ones, it seems like it'll still hang too low. I can't even get in my garage anymore without scraping
the exhaust is fantastic, though. I'd recommend it to anyone!

I put it on last Friday and the hangers that came with it suck. I tightened it down and then tried to loosen it back up and the screw W/nut broke off.
I had to go to Home Depot to get another one. The only problem that I have had is with the one in the middle. It was hangn' too low, so I moved it around to where the screws are facing up, and now I have a vibrating noice. I am going to the the center one welded just so I will not have the vibration noise on my car.

Most people have to have it welded if they lower their car. I have the cat-back and I live it, but the UBolts that come with it will not keep it tight enough and it sags in the middle, and thats where it scrapes, so hangers wont help any. I have to get mine welded sometime soon before I lower the car.

If people dont want to hoist it, just find a shop that has the lifts that you drive onto, not one of the ones with the lift under your frame. This way, when it lifts you car, it'll be doing it by the tires (since the ramps lifts).
They can't hoist it, nor can they drive it onto the ramp lifts. The reason they can't drive it on, is the side skirts. They'll scrape as the front end goes on the lift, and the rear wheels are still on the ground. It sucks, but I guess the only other alternative is to put wood down to lengthen the ramps, so that I can have both front and rear up on the lift at the same time.
THe lowest point of MY magnaflow seems to be the rear U-Bolt. It's whats scraping the ground. I've also scraped the bottom of the muffler (not tip, but the muffler) on a couple of driveways while trying to reverse into them.
I can't take it anywhere to be welded, because everyone says they can't lift the car up. If anyone knows of a trustworthy place in ottawa ON, let me know. I might have to drive down to MagnaflowGuy's shop and see if he can do it.
I'm starting to get really paranoid about the whole scraping thing with winter coming. I might have to take off my springs so that I'm not plowing the snow with my exhaust
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

you have to weld, unless you want to scrape on every friggin bump you com across. a friend of mine welded mine for me. took about ten minutes after we got the exhaust off(damn its fun driving with no exhaust). the u-bracket that was used to hold the pipes together was worn down about an inch(and this is metal we are talking about) cuz of how much i scraped.
you wont notice a difference in performance or sound. except that you will not have anymore exhaust leaks. and i recommend getting a gasket for the catalytic converter/ midpipe joint. leaks like a ****.
ID, I told you already the magnaflow catback is stainless :-p
I'm getting mine welded after I put springs on, all on Saturday...The ubolts hang too low as it is and my car isn't dropped yet
Once you weld it, there will be no need for the ubolt I don't know if they can do much for the muffler though, maybe push the pipes up a bit, but the tip is already pretty close to the bumper...
Good luck everyone

I have the magnaflow and only thought the muffler was stainless. I thought the pipes were galivanized or something.
Anyhow, I had mine welded and they didn't even question me about it. The midpipe still hangs way too low though. I scape on all speed bumps and the muffors scrapes sometimes as well. My car is lowered with neuspeed sports though.

DAMN! How many inches between the bottom of your side skirts and the ground? Must be crazy slammed to not even go up a ramp.
Hey, sorry for delayed response...
My sideskirts are probably about 4 inches off the ground. I have the goldline sports...definitely a worthwhile purchase!
Basically, the ramps are somewhat steep. Think of it like going up a big curb...when the back tires are just about to hit the curb, the underbody near the wheels is REALLY close to scraping hte curb. Well, in my case, it scrapes the curb anyways.
It sucks
But...I don't know anyone with a welder. I'm going to try to MacGuyver something tomorrow though. Hopefully by bending the metal things that attach to the hanger, I should be able to get it up closer to the car. Right now, I'm paranoid to drive anywhere that has speedbumps. I can't even go into my driveway if the end of it isn't shoveled!!!
Actually, this morning it snowed here (probably about 3"), and I could hear my exhaust (not muffler) plowing the roads. It was depressing!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, though. This makes me feel a bit better!
It gives me hope to see that other people have fixed the problem!
Cheers guys!

i also have magnaflow and mine hangs low too.
that sux
anyways i have question.
what are the advantages & disadvantages taking the resonator out?
i was thinking of taking out the resonator and get a custom pipe.
what do you guyz think? will this work?
i haven't installed springs yet b/c i've already exprienced scraping on speed bumpers.
