JMO Torque Converters

Hey wassup...i was readin the newest issue of honda tunning...and on page 17 it talked bout a JMO Torque converter for our car...just wonderin if anyone has this..and any feed back...click here

Yeah right. With a Cvic you need a performane torque converter about as much as you need a limited slip differential. Hard to get all that power to the ground.

JMO PERFORMANCE TORQUE CONVERTER change alot of torque for Police Car of FULLErTON P.D, California......they got alot of good freind there.

Basically its the main part that converts the power from your engine to the tranny. Its sort of like a manual clutch thats controlled by fluid coupling. When buying a TC you typically choose it by its stall rpm, which should be based on your engines HP and torque ouput, driveline gear ratio and other mods you may have. Obtaining the right stall rpm(500rpms below peak torque rpm some say is ideal) allows you to be in the powerband and launch quicker. Our Civics have a pretty high stall TC already though, which is about 2800rpms. For those who drag racer automatics, they typically will install a high stall TC. What it allows them to do is bring the rpms up to the stall rpm range while holding down the brakes, putting them in the powerband right before launching(this is what some peeps call a brake stand).
