I am thinking of changing some of my fluids to Royal Purple before winter. The oil seems fine, I'll just get some 5w20, or would I be better with 5w30. Now I see they have max gear oil, but that comes in different types too, what type do we use for ours cars? This is the same as the trans fluid right? How many quarts should I buy? Also same thing for the power steering fluid and any other Fluids they made. Should I put the Radiator stuff in? Is it even worth the price to buy their products? I searched but didnt find too much help, thanks!
According to Familyman (who's an amateur drag racer), Royal Purple makes the best fluids, though costly. I know their motor oil is bad@$$, my friend uses it on his GSR, but I have no idea about the rest of their stuf.
I guess no one here has royal purple or no one here knows hoch much fluids we need, you guys are some real winners!
The shop I used to take my old car to uses all Royal Purple Products. They are a top notch shop with several NHRA drag cars. I trust this shop totally and they have never let me down. If they use Royal Purple, it's gotta be good.

Get 5W20. The tolerances in our engines are so tight that 5W20 is what we need. You see, the viscosity of the oil determines how strong it is to seal up the various nooks and crannies within an engine. Since our engines have small nooks and crannies, this automatically reduces the strain on the oil in those nooks and crannies. You don't need a higher viscosity oil to seal properly. Not only that, but a higher viscosity oil will offer more resistence to the engine; more resistence means less horsepower. Now, if you're pushing some serious horsepower and your oil is not doing it's job, then I guess a higher viscosity might help you out. I can't give you any numbers without research though...

Going on the same principal as the above I would go with the 75W90.

Yes.
How many quarts should I buy?
Not exactly sure, read this though: Basic Driveline Maintenance Part I (FR) At the end they mention "2.5 to 3.5 quarts" for rear-wheel drive cars. It might be something like 1.5 to 2.5 quarts for ours?
Should I put the Radiator stuff in?
That Purple Ice stuff should be allright. Although I would use Redline's Water Wetter. That stuff is proven to work. I'm not about Royal Purple's products?
Is it even worth the price to buy their products?
Not sure? Although they did a dyno on a Camaro when they changed out all the fluids with Royal Purple's stuff on Horsepower TV and they gained a couple of ponies. I believe it went from 302hp to 307hp? I can't remember the numbers...
Hey grey, thanks for the great repsonse.. that was just what I was looking for... I think I'll pick up some of their products next time I am near JC whitney and give them a shot.... Thanks again!
