I haven't had any problems with my keys falling off, its seems pretty tough. The mechanism is spring loaded and appears to be very strong, anyhow all my keys & my transmitter are on a normal Key-ring first.

just don't undo it too many times, i'm guess its made chessy since its probably made out of a chessy factory....... i just undid mine once
and i get **** when my friends try to open it

the way i did it is I bought a sheet of sticker that looks like carbon fiber ( www.viggdesigns.com )...it's meant for making your hood look like carbon fiber but I gt it for misc stuff. It comes in 9' by 3' sheets (for $45!!!) so you could prolly do a couple hundred keys...try ebay or other websites for smaller quantities, or email the guy, he can prolly hook you up with a small sheet. Anyway, I got the large sheet for covering my subwoofer box.
Just cut out a small rectangle large enough to cover one side and the sides, then place it on the top, smooth down the top, then finess the edges down the side. Since they're curved its kinda tricky but you can figure something out. Maybe cut out notches at the corners. Anyway, then use an Xacto knife to trim out the holes for the buttons, and around the sides (I just cut in the groove). Then do the back.
You should be able to figure it out...its prety simple

hehe, yeah its kinda ironic since carbon fiber is supposed to make your car lighter...yet if you put this sheet of sticker on your hood it would make it heavier...
