Flowmaster 60 Series
Has anyone tried this muffler yet? I did a search and only came up with one entry and all the guy did was give the muffler stats from the website(15-20HP in his dreams). But I would appreciate to hear some opinions on it.
15-20 hp from a muffler your lucky if you get 2 hp outta of a muffler.

The flowmaster 60 series is just a muffler. I know friends have them on old muscle cars but wondering how this muffler that was designed for 4 and 6 cylinder cars actually is.
I had a flowmaster on my S-10 (4 cyl. 118 hp) and it sounded great. I had it put on right where the old muffler was and then had the pipe turn right off the muffler. In my opinion, it was really good. Low rumble, and and good sound at higher RPM's. Now this was a 40 series though.

Flowmaster....psssh...i used to work for Flowmaster here in West Sacramento (where i currently live) and to tell you the honest truth...those mufflers are just for sound...and the catback they claim to be selling...is just a pipe-to-pipe fitment type exhaust...and they use aluminized steel to make there mufflers...i used to work in the paint and production part of Flowmaster...it was a sorry @$$ job, and you would think the pay was good...but shoot, that was just wishful thinking...their mufflers suck! they claim to increase HP on the box, thats a lie...and if there is anyone out there who wants to buy one, my suggestion is don't! however, if you put a dynomax, or flow master, which IMO is THE sweetest soundind muffler on a Mustang 5.0(and surpases any sound a ricer could ever make); or on any V8, youll usually get about 15-20 hp out of it. Double the motor=double the power gains.
i dont know why people have to be so closed minded.
You are mistaken. The horsepower gains are most likely from the Flowmaster II that comes with the Flowmaster 60 series muffler. My brother's '97 Civic sedan has flowmaster cat-back on his, and he can beat me in a race. I am seriously thinking about getting rid of my magnaflows in exchange for these.
I copied the below from another site.
