Did you search? Because you've just been BSed. HP is not going to make a new header. The design of the header is like that because it is a RACE header. If they redesigned their 4 into 1 header with high flow cat, then there'd be no point in buying it as it is the best bolt on part for our cars.

Next time you call HP, talk to their TECHNICIAN, but now there's no point. They are NOT redesigning it. Take a saw, and start cutting.

EDIT: They've been talking about redesigning their header since when? Before THIS summer?
AND there is an LX header... same exact design as the old 4-1 with cat, but has a plug for the O2 sensor in the front.

The one for the LX fits the EX so it's pretty universal. If you decide to sell it, you can sell it to a owner with any trim.

What I wanna know is... WHEN IT'LL BE OFF OF BACKORDER!

hpracing.com. It's on the page as soon as it loads. I think it's on back-order but if you do call, let us know the status of their header.

Oh, and just to let you know about the different headers HP has...

4-2-1: +5HP (no cutting required)
4-1 with downpipe & cat (3-piece): +7HP
4-1 with cat (2-piece): +14HP <--- this is what you want.

The one with the cat converter of course. And yes, it's not street legal cuz it's a race header. The street one ain't worth shyt. You might as well get their 4-2-1 header.

EDIT: It's actually in 2 pieces and you can see for yourself. NBPCivic posted pics of his which were the header and the cat converter seperate. You can also buy the cat converter seperate (I think).

You can see the hook-up for the O2 sensor. This is the only "re-designed" 4-1 header that's not really redesigned. It just comes with the outlet.

It's a race header because of the long-tube, equal length design. Kills low-end torque but really helps on the top end, hence, "race." It's for "off-road use only" becuase of the high-flow cat.

The shorty header is best for the daily commute but the "race" version will make your car accelerate the fastest. When you race from a stoplight or what have you, after 1st gear, the rpms never drop back into the rpm range that suffers the torque loss due to the increased airflow. So, "race" if you want all the hp you can get.

Kew. That explains the the race between my friends in their 7th gens when one had the header with cat and the other with just intake and exhaust.

Truthfully the other headers do suck... well, the #s do speak louder than words. My friend put his 4-2-1 HP header on and didn't like it. So he sold it to another team member, and got the 4-1 with cat, 2-piece and loved it. His engine and exhaust sounds a bit better. He also had an intake and exhaust with both headers. I just wanna know when this thing gets off of back order. I was gonna change the cat on my car but I dunno who else makes aftermarket cats for our cars.

I have no idea... NBPCivic would know... or maybe someone else who has the header. I've never searched it up on the internet.

WHAT YOU WANT!!!

Dont lisen to HP they are liers. They will say anything to get you to get one of thier headers. I ordered what was suppost to be the last 4-1 reacing header and they sent me a crappy top half and down pipe which is the one that they say you dont have to drop the motor or cut the motor mount. Look at my header. I can get that header if your interested. I am installing one on a LX today and am going to do a DIY on the racing header.

The gains for that one aren't as noticably positive compared to the one with the cat.
