I know some people who would say yes, but from mechanics and friends the advice is not to waste your money unless you want a little bit shinnier engine bay.

i want more HP just as much as the next guy, so obviously i have seriously looked into this. Ive only got one responce from countless people. The Cam Gear is nearly useless without the Cam Shaft. Wait for a shaft to come out, then buy the gear, and tune with that for optimal power gains.
Just wanted to share,
Peace~

Oh so people can see through valve covers? The cam gear (gear not gears) is not visible after install.

the mods on my car are not your concern. if you search around you might see a post where i let on what ive got. anyway, adjustable cam gear on a sohc car? hmm....

now before you get all antsy and jump the gun trying to flame me (in a nice way) like those other fools on the thread i created (Here) maybe you should sit down and ask yourself...is my engine modified to the point where i actually do need timing advanced or retarded?

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I've got the cam gear, its been talked about many times already. If you search the forums you'll see several posts in which i've talked about installing it and what I thought. I'm not gunna post it again, hopefully those messages will answer your questions.

first off, i dont even know why people WITHOUT this mod are responding. and to LIKE WEEEEE, dude, i dont even understand you. you post some of the most INSIGNIFICANT postings on this site. you respond to threads that literally have NOTHING to do with you, and you obviously know very little, or nothing, about. and this is just another one of those threads that you have nothing positive or insightful to say.

BLCKCIVIC01... please search next time, because aside from the HP HEADERS, this topic has been thoroughly discussed by people who have this mod, and again, people who DO NOT have this mod. i myself have the AEM CAM GEAR, and can tell you first hand that it is not worth the money until you have an after-market camshaft, or a OEM camshaft that has been regrinded by a machine shop... however i dont recommend that you have a small shop regrind yours unless they plan on buying you a new one if they screw up.
i've tested the AEM Tru-Time Adjustable Cam Gear in all different areas of its ability, and at either state of being at Advanced or Retard, nothing seems to make any significant difference for the positive. i actually have to admit that since i have installed this mod, my engine has not liked the change in timing. when i adjust the timing in either direction away from 0 degrees (neutral), the altered timing changes the power band, but also cause the engine to BOG DOWN around 2500-4000 rpms when cruising. if i could've realized what this mod would do before i had installed it, i would've gone back to the shop and ordered the AEM Pulleys instead.
