Advantages of racing seats?
Why do people get them? Comfort? Do they weigh less than stock? I assume you lose the side airbag capability when you get them? More secure fit (the harness thing)?
Looks?

To the original question... I honestly think they're more comfortable to sit in. The stock Civic seats get less comfortable every time I sit in them. They're too thin and there is no lumbar. At least with racing seats, you can add padding for lumbar. As far as Side airbags, if you don't have them to begin with, it doesn't matter. They also look cool. I don't care about the weight loss.

Boilermaker1, I think I like your steering wheel cover, but I'm not sure. Where did you get it?

I got it at After thoughts auto. This was the cheapest I could find. They are drop shipped direct from the Wheelskins factory and it came in about 3 days. You'll just have to deal with the fact that it is mostly a GM F-body store, wade through all the Camaro crap, get your Wheelskins and get out!

IMO, racing seats are really for grip and support while taking high-speed turns and what not. You know, so you aren't sliding around and having to brace yourself with the steering wheel and arm rest.
However, the advantages for a civic are:
LOOKS--The Cool factor. Pretty cut and dry.
