Wheelskins anyone?

Does anyone know anything about these? They're leather steeringwheel covers that are available in a bunch of colors and they're about $35. It just sews on to the OEM wheel and the airbag stays functional and all that stuff. Does anyone have one on their car or ever seen one? What kind of quality are these? I'm seriously thinking about buying one like this.... Except with red sides and black top and bottom. I think it will match the silver car pretty good (I also have red inserts on my Momo Pedals).

Less than $20 at autozone, pepboys, kragen...etc. I might buy it too...i drove a lexus with a leathered steering wheel and i loved it.

However, the sewing part is keeping me away from it right now.. haha

My friend has a bovine print wheelcover in her car. Does that count as leather?

You can get the sew on ones for under 20 bucks???? Or are you talking about the slip on covers? I thought 35 bucks for the 2 tone leather was a good deal, and I'm gonna order it tomorrow. The holes are punched and they tell you how to sew it so I shouldn't have too much trouble, but if I get in trouble, I'm sure someone I know can sew.

It was pretty simple. However, it takes about an hour to put on. You have to run the stitching through all the holes (there are quite a few). It's very tedious work, but I think it's worth it.

Believe or not, I used Dupli-Color High Temp 1200 degree engine paint. I liked the way it looked on the spark plug cover, so I just did the interior as well. I also used 600 grit sandpaper to sand it down first. I sprayed one of the vent trims without sanding it and it bubbled up. So, you would definitely want to sand it down. I've also painted the trim on the console, but I don't have an updated pic. I believe autozone carries Dupli-Color, but they didn't have the color I wanted, so I got it from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Boilermaker, I think I paid like $45 or $50 for mine, so if you can get it for $35 that would be a good deal.

PseudoChrist, I ordered mine from The Civic Store, but it looks like boilermaker may know of somewhere to get it cheaper. Unless they've lowered they're prices.

www.afterthoughtsauto.com has them in solid colors for $30, 2 tone for $35, both charged a reasonable $5.00 shipping. The size for civics is AXX and there are many colors.

Just ordered mine... Black with Red sides.
