Reading the FAQ on intakes, it says AEM doesnt make a CAI that works with an auto tranny and they claim that it wouldnt improve performance anyways. Is this true or do intakes like Injens race division CAI improve performance on autos?

Aem have short ram and cold air...
short ram and cold air works with manual
only short ram makes for auto...
i personally have injen race division..and i have tried using short ram
and cold air...i have automatic.. and i can feel the difference...
if you have auto go for race division...cause short ram...doesn't help that much

I've gone ahead and ordered the AEM SRI for my ride. I would have gotten the Injen CAI but I didn't really like the look of it and we sometimes get some pretty heavy rain down here in southeast VA (namely hurricanes/nor'easters). I really don't feel like dealing with hydrolock. The intake should be here in a week. I'll let you know then how it performes. Then it's time to order a H/E solution - thinking about DC Sports all the way out.

u will be fine with the cai. water wont get in the intake unless you submerge it in water. if you do that then the last thing you will worry bout is your intake.
Well I live in So Cal which rains very little and when it does its not that much. Besides im not a huge fan of driving in the rain as hyrdoplaning sucks. I wasnt really thinking of getting the SRI because I wanted the benefits of the cold air intake. Also, the link to the stuff about the new complete CAI package thing (Derek's link) says it also is only being made for manuals and that an SRI will be made for autos shortly.

Heheh. You haven't lived in Southeast VA then. We do get some heavy rain around here and the drainage on some of the streets is less than adequate. With a CAI, it wouldn't be too hard to dunk it in some water.
