[hr]I thought of the heat shield too but I heard that it does not help since the whole engine compartment is hot. [hr]

Ok think about that. If that doesn't work becuase it will get hot why wouldn't the CAI tube do the same? It is made of the same material. Plus it is so much more restrictive than the SRI[hr]

Rep Power: 0 z3 fenders would probably help.
also, there really isn't much of an improvement over SRI's with a CAI. (or any intake, for that matter) if you think there is, you probably also think CAI's make 15hp.

the heatshield, IMO, unless it covers a larger area then just surround less than half the filter, doesn't do crude.
the air in the engine bay will still be hot..
you can try and totally encase the filter in something... like the comptech ice box, or mugen intake box...
but if u want a heatshield, a more effective one would be like K&N's FIPK... go search for it, I htink there are a few pics and it'll give you some idea.

Rep Power: 343 I'm not talking about the K&N filter, i'm talking about their FIPK... fuel injection performance kit.
it comes with a heatshield, and its much more effective than InJen's.
