Saw this on the MX 6 site..............Its called IAT (Intake Air Temperature) it cuts off the fuel in between shifts causing more cumbustion while tricking the ECU to think that colder air is coming into the engine than actually is causing the engine to breathe better. Check out the link Here

And that's why it doesn't make sense when people think that they should rev up the engine inbetween shifts.

that won't do anything good. it's never a good idea to disconect a sensor
