iv heard many things. are windshield washer lights, neon license plates, or making your interior glow legal. alot of people say its illegal and some say its legal but why do they sell illegal things. I live in illinois. whatever info you have to offer, please share, thanx.

it varies from state to state....but im pretty sure that you CANNOT have any red or blue visible lighting on the exterior of your car...BTW, im in missouri

why is this?
its believed that these colors are similar to those of emergency veichles!

however i have also been told that if you get body neon (under the car) then as long as the tubes are not showing then they are alright.

but you might want to have a chat with your local police or police station and figure it out for yourself

anything red or blue in the front of your car is definitely illegal, in any state. they sell them because the packages are clearly marked "for off road use only", making the company not responsible for anything you may get in trouble for. underbody neons are usually not legal also, but they don't care if you have the neons and LED washers on while you're parked in a private area or something. you'd have to check local laws for the glowing interior thing, though.

I live in IL also. NEONS of ANY kind, color, or placement are illegal here. Not sure about washer lights...some friends have been harassed but no ticktets.

neons pretty much illegal. i heard that if you have neons on while you drive. then its illegal cause that can cause destraction for other driver,

I wouldn't do any of that stuff. Windshield washer LEDs, neons, etc., no matter what color are illegal in my state (NY) and most others.

If the bulb is showing then it is illegal. The colors that are illegal here are yellow and white. This is beacuase it f$%^s up the night vision in the people behind you. Red is fine and blue is fine. I roll with my neons all the time (not since that damn groundhog though) and I have never even gotten pulled over or looked at. As long as you are not giving a distration then you should be fine.
