im sure they help if you advance/retard the timing. otherwise they do nothing...correct?

They help on DOHC motors but like always, wont do much for ours, and make sure you know what your doing, you dont want your pistons to be slappin your valves.

if you get a cam gear for your car then you have to realize their will be much less tuning that can take place since our one camshaft deals with both intake and exhaust valves. compared to DOHC motors, one cam gear tweaks the intake valve timing while the other tweaks the exhaust valve timing. also, you should DEFINITELY go to a dyno that you know is reliable because too much advanced or retarded timing will frig up your engine.

yea and if u change the cam gear why not just change the whole cam rod while ur at it?
