yeah but i beat your octane body kit is fiberglass, the urethane kits are harder to paint and shopz charge more,.................... i don't now why they are harder to paint but i imagine thats the reason it costs so much......
Civicmexicano, you've got it backwards. The urethane kits cost less to paint than fiberglass. The body shop I went to told me that fiberglass requires more prep work and doesn't paint as easily as urethane. He said the money you save buying a fiberglass kit, you're going to end up spending getting it installed and painted.
Flatlander, your kit should come primered. You should be expecting anywhere from $250-$400 for paint depending on where you live. If you have someone do the install, the installation shouldn't be anymore than $100.

what is the difference between painting fiberglass and painting urethane, cause the shop here in mexico are used to painting only fiberglass, and if i bought a urethane kit how would they painted??
on that level, Urethane fits better because it is pliable and because it is pliable if you just painted it like you would fiberglass, as it moved around the paint would stretch and crack, so they have to put an additive into the paint when painting the urethane, just like when they paint your front and rear bumpers, fiberglass is a paint in the friggin *** to paint because its almost never perfect theres always flaws you have to sand out and prime again.
Thats untrue because once you prime Urethane it clogs up all the pores so none of the paint really gets absorbed, In a body shop I would always charge at least 100 USD more to paint a fiberglass kit.
Urethane is superior but there is only so much you can do with it, its alot more cost effective to lay fiberglass in a mold then it is to make a urethane mold and inject it.
Personally I am getting the Kaminari kit because it is Urethane and is safer to drive with on the road, also I dont want a whole new rear bumper I'm just going to mold the rear valence so it looks flush same with the front and the sides. lot fo peole do not do this because it costs extra money but in my belief its well worth it.

[hr]urathane absorbs some of the paint so it is a little harder but fiberglass never fits right [hr]
