Rep Power: 0 What do to with stock engine after swap.
I'm definetly going to do the rsx swap as soon as hasport comes out with the mounts and stuff.
As for my current engine...what should I do with it? Try selling the whole thing? Sell the parts
privately or on ebay? Put a 100 shot of NOS on it and head to some races? Anyways...any
suggestions would be great. Oh yeah...also have the Injen CAI. Will be selling it as well.

Rep Power: 0 Hell, if you're planning on blowing up your stock engine, you might as well go with a 10000000000 shot of nitrous and blow everyone away. Seriously though, I'm not sure, I've never been involved in an engine swap. I'm sure others will have a legitimate answer for you.

Rep Power: 0 I'm going with the type-s engine into my 2k1 civic lx. I didn't know that any B series motor fit into our bays
so I left that option out of the question. Anybody have an idea if the prelude H22 will fit?

Rep Power: 0 That doesn't make any sence. Acura.com says both engines are 2.0 liters. and i-vtec. The only honda engine out with i-vtec is the k20...granted there are minor differences. The new Si, the rsx, and the rsx all have the k20 in them. However even the regular rsx have about 10 more torque than the Si. And the only differences between the regular and type-s rsx are the following.
11:1 compression ratio (can be achieved with racing pistons I believ )
slightly better valve timing (better cams? or rockers?)
A better intake. (But still nothing like what you'd buy on the aftermarket)
A better exhaust. (Again. Might as well get a GReddy Evo.)
6-speed tranny (A must have)
If you're looking to save some money during the swap try finding the
regular rsx engine and get the 6-speed and do the mods like the pistons, intake, exhaust, and cams.
This should bring you within range or most likely more HP than the type-s engine.

Rep Power: 0 the b18c and its various iterations are the motors used in GS-R and type-R integras. the reason the regular RSX has more torque than the si hatch is because the gears are different. well, if and when you do the swap, be sure to keep us posted

Rep Power: 0 ....I guess I might be a little strange but I keep all my OEM parts when I get aftermarket stuff installed, so I would probably just stow it in my garage, but if i found a buyer for a g or 2 i might consider letting it go, i would not blow it with nitrous.

Rep Power: 0 nah, you're not a little strange, i do the same thing. i just do it so that in the unlikely event that either something goes super wrong or i sell the car, i can put them all back on.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah...maybe the two of you are right. I've always wanted to tear down and rebuild an engine.
Maybe I'll just do it with my civic lx engine. Who knows...only time will tell...thanks for the replys.
