Heres the latest from HKS on the turbo!!!
Good news guys its still in R & D but they may have solved the fuel issue:

Hello 2k1 civic enthusiasts.
Just posting to let you know R&D is still happening for the car.
R&D has believed that they had solved the fuel issue.
With the stock fuel system, knocking happens with the turbo upgrade.
So for some time now, we have been looking to increase fuel to deter the engine going lean, as well as trying to increase safe horsepower to make the kit more marketable. Also, we are exploring some ideas to increase engine management efficiency while keeping costs down.
Sorry, there is no info yet on pricing and release date.

Hey,
Me too, I'm glad I have an EX. It wouldn't matter however if its a 5-speed or Auto, but I do think the EX will benefit from this. But oh well, I'm still skeptical that this Turbo will be released in this year.

I look forward for power upgrades. Exactly why I am not buying a cold air intake. Gotta save some money in hope of getting a nice turbo kit in the future. 10psi here I come.
Does anyone have a kit out yet? Or are we waiting on all of the mfg's to fix the fuel issue?

By the time they actually release the kit, I will be ready to trade in the Civic for THIS
I love my civic just as much as the next guy, but I don't think I will be willing to use the 3500-5000 its going to take to drop in a turbo kit. That money is better spent on a new car down payment, or even better....part of a down payment on a house.

Im not touchin my 7th gen anymore. I was just posting an update cause peeps are interested. I just bought a 95 dx hatch and it has my full attention. The d17 does not respond well enough for me to waste money on it.
so wait a second here, all you ex people out there why are you so happy??? havent you seen the hks turbo prototype??? i do beleive it is on a lx, yeah thats right lx. so man i am glad to have a lx. plus the lx can handle more psi's than the vtech ex. sorry to bust your bubble.
no bubble bustin here biggs. the compression isnt that much higher on the ex so the difference in psi that the two engines can handle in minimal.

"The kit has not been test on the non-EX models yet. Once noticable difference is the cat location, which makes the downpipe fitment different - We designed the kit to ge a CARB exempt kit, hense bolting on to the stock cat of the EX models."

What do ya say to that biggs? Not for the EX? WTF, do some research before you come on here and post some BS like that. It hasnt been tested on any other models, only the EX!!!!!

And the best part is the VTEC engine.
i'm not even gonna bother getting deep into this.. but well.. you really think ABS is that great? personally, i'd rather use threshold braking and be in control of my car. not to mention i'd purchase my own cd player, since the stock one costs an arm and a leg and you still don't have the sound quality level available on a rampage deck!
to tell you the truth, vtec isn't being used all that well on a civic anyway. you are pretty much using it to power your air conditioning and to carry the extra weight of both that and your sunroof. (in some cases it also helps to carry the ego of some vtec-philes, which can be pretty big sometimes.)
