AEM CAI for the New Si

Just received it yesterday and installed it asap. Wow! It sounds mean as a mfer! It honestly sounds like a prelude before vtec. Im very happy with it. I havent really had a chance to go through all the gears with it yet, but that should be after work today. One warning though, if you do purchase it and want to install it yourself, make sure you have plenty of time. They manage to stick that dizamn thing in the smallest place possible. There was like zero room to fit it, but they did. Ive got a few bruised knuckles, but of course it was worth it! A+ mod.

Umm. . . I think that pic was taken before installation. Do you have one taken afterwards?

I havent had a chance to take the pic yet, but its real funny....you can only see about an inch of the intake from the engine bay. Since the engine is facing the opposite way of the other hondas the intake mani is in front and the intake goes down into the bumper. The only way you can get any kind of a decent look at it is with the left front wheel off and the fender well casing off. I still havent put that back on yet cause you have to modify it to fit back on. All in all not an easy installation. Plus the pictures on the directions were too hard to see. And they dont explain it very well. Im probably going to have to document it for the other Si owners on here. I kept having to use tools that have nothing to do with the engine bay of a car....i.e. a hammer, panel tool (super handy), creeper. I was really amazed about how rushed AEM must have been when they made this intake. But its all good cause its awesome!!!

Well I got a chance to hit it pretty good today on lunch break. I can honestly say that I gained a good 8 hp. vtec def kicked in a lot harder and made the car jump. I recommend this as anybody's first mod. As long as you dont mind installing it or paying someone to install it.
