Rep Power: 0 A/C from a junk yard
It is strating to get really hot down here in So. Cal. and I am regetting not getting A/C for my DX. A new kit from Honda is like a grand right? Living 30 mins from Mexico, we have a lot of junkyards and I thought that if I found a car with A/C I would pay about half that. what are your guys thoughts?

Rep Power: 0 There's a whole online network of salvage yards with inventories on their sites. Try going to www.google.com and search for import salvage yards. I got a like new set of struts from one of these yards for less than half the online Honda store price.

Rep Power: 0 Well I did the search and the only thing that came up is Nation Wide stuff that didn't have any A/C for the Civic.
Maybe someone who lives in San Diego like I do knows of a web site?

Rep Power: 0 You might want to check with your local dealer cause I didnt get the ABS, and A/C package and then about a month ago I got a letter in the mail from Honda saying they they would intall the A/C for like a fraction of the original cost, I dont really want it anyway (I have 2/60 A/C, 2 windows down, 60Mph. ). I am not sure if thats being offered where you are. This was with Honda Canada. Just a thought to check it out.

Rep Power: 0 That A/C must be new since it was not there when I check. Besides that, will a EX 4dr's A.C work with my DX coupe?
I am going to call to some of the dealers around and see what they got. Thanks
>> later that day<<
I talked to a couple of dealers and they are all saying 1000 for parts and 1500 installed.
