dc sports tcs

i think i finally made up my mind in spending a whole bunch
of money on the dc sports catback exhaust. i think it looks
nice, it's not as loud as other catbacks, and i think it's street
legal. what do you guys think? should i get something else?
it's a lot of money so i want to make the right choice.

yeah i'm just about to pull the trigger and get the dc tcs. ive been debating it for quite some time. but its really not all that more then most exhausts, unless you wanted in on the magnaflow group buy. but it is quitier than most it was designed to be legal as far as sound pollution laws, so its 50 state legal. oh i think you asked about an intake on another post, i have an AEM cold air and i love it, the sound is nice, i would go cold air rather than short, bt if you want to go short wait till the dc short comes out.

vandal and hefe, i think were making the wise choice.
the dc sports has a good name behind it, and i heard the
greddy cat is too loud. so what do you guys hear about
the magnaflow cat? i know it's cheaper.

not to put a drag on things, but I think all you are paying for (500+ bones) is sound and brand name. I doubt there's any real increase in performance.

in terms of exhaust, if I ever get one, I'll get an Apexi World Sport (duno if they'll make one for us, I think maybe.) or a Tanabel Racing Medallion (or was it Super Medallion for our car?), its super loud, but its reputation in actual gains are there.

still, if any gains, they're not much.

i'm sure there are better cat backs out there like tanabe, but like you said (cap yoda)
the tanabe is loud and being loud only attracts them cops. so does anyone suggest a
cat back that is not very loud but gives you an increase in performance?
i've heard that the dc sports tcs is not worth getting if you have an automatic, is that true?
maybe, some of you with an automatic and own the dc tcs can tell me. thanks!

i like my setup Hp 4-1 header with racing cat (pratically hollow pipe) with magnaflow mid-pipe (resonater removed) and an apexi n1 anodized muffler. It's VERY loud and i can't go anywhere without setting off a car alarm.. but it's also very deep. The thing i like most is i get a lot of pull out of this setup.. mostly in third gear. my next move will be the Gude package.. i need the cam to make up for the lost bottom end power.

hefe,
i was told this by some import shop. and they recommended a universal muffler.
they told me that it wouldn't be worth it to get a dc sports tcs if you have
an automatic and that it would be cheaper to get a universal muffler and have
custom piping done. i think most universal mufflers are illegal and are very loud.
so what do you think about that?

It's kinda odd that they would say that... and tell you it's cheaper to go the other way.........If it was methat owned the shop, i'd say hell yeah get the TCS and take your money............. weird????

hefe, are you planning on getting the dc sports tcs also?
i noticed your car was also an automatic.
do you know if we would get additional hps with it?
i know that many people say the sound is great, but
i would like to get some hp from it?

I would love to get it..... but they don't make it for the LX....... which is what i have.......

Nothing really puts out the HP for our cars in terms of the Exhaust......

I think the Magnaflow is the best bet with the HP gain.. but i don't like the way it sounds.....

I wanna know what the Greddy EVO sounds like and see the numbers it puts out

But i have heard the TCS and love it

yah, i don't want anything too loud and the tcs looks hella good.
i heard the magnaflow is too bulky and it usually scrapes if your car
is low. my car is about 2+ inches lower so i think i would have a problem with the
magnaflow and it doesn't look as nice as the tcs.
so i think the tcs is the best and is legal too.
