Rep Power: 0 I have seen those in the mags quite a bit lately but wasnt sure about them, does it do anything or is it something you put on and you "think" that its doing something when its really doing nothing.
Any Thoughts?

Rep Power: 394 The stock filter supposedly already has a magnet within it. It does have a function though. All of the metal shavings that get generated by parts grinding against each other get collected in the filter and they stay there. Putting on a bigger magnet will help to keep all of those metal shavings in the filter.
That FilterMag thing is pretty expensive though, $79.95 for our cars! They have some at www.jcwhitney.com as well. You can also just stick on any old magnet, I was thinking of getting one from www.mcmaster.com Anyway, maybe later. I'll tear open the stock filter to find out if that little magnet really exists and I'll post a picture. Stay tuned...

Rep Power: 0 They used to sell oil drain plugs with a magnet that stuck up inside the oil pan a little bit, but I think that could get full and particles could come back off.
That Grey is a man after my own heart. Take it apart and see if it really works. That's the way to go. Must be an engineer.

Spoon Motorsports (spoon civics) sold those for tranny and oil pans but they were a hefty price...
