cai sucking up water?

i searched and couldnt find a thread on this so im gonn ask. has anybody had a problem with they're CAI sucking up water? i've heard this is an issue with them, but i was wondering if it had actually happened to anyone here

ya i convert mine to sri during winter, and even when it rains the cai should be fine, its not even low enough to suck up water... unless u go thorough a 2 foot puddle of water

Just install a bypass valve. That should take care of it.

unless it goes in a 2 foot puddle, and STAYS there whiel you rev. you should be fine. I don't believe the intake creates enough of a vaccum to suck up water all the way up. Correct me if i am wrong.

revitcivic, you are right. the whole hype about sucking water up is just that: hype. you'll be fine, and don't worry about wasting $50 on the bypass valve, it's a waste of money and it looks bad, IMO.

yeah, in our cars w/ the aem cai, there is NO need for the bypass valve, you woudl have to SUBMERGE your car into one hell of a puddle....and in that case, sucking up water is the least of your problems! lol
