So I've seen the street glow setup in mags and of course Fast and the Furious, but I was wondering if it is legal or does it run from state to state? (I live in CT)Can you drive your car w/ the lights on or would you just get pulled over and ticketed??? I've been thinking about this, but want to make sure I won't run into any problems. I want to be able to have them on while driving??

I talked to a lawyer......
You can, here in Texas at least, drive with them on.......
We have looked through the Texas Transportation Handbook and it doesn't say a thing about neon lights.......
i got a ticket for driving with them on, talked to a lawyer and he said NO.. it's not illegal......
As a matter of fact, I'm goin to court tomorrow (4/30) for this

Rep Power: 0 I love in Ohio and in my hometown of C-ville...(cirlceville), I can drive with them on...the city cops even ask me about them. I drive with them turned on when I'm on the highway and the State Patrol and Sheriffs don't bother me.

Rep Power: 0 Good Luck Hefe, let us know how you make out.
I am going to get some this year and see if I like them, I dont think the cops will give me too much trouble but then again I have never seen anyone around here with them.

Rep Power: 319 Well guys...... I'm back from my hearing.
The prosecutor said they were illegal, I said NO and that i had talked to a lawyer also, i showed him some of my paper work Texas Law, (go to chapters 547.302 through 547.383... for those with time to read, and want to try and point-out to me anything that it says about neon) Oh and i did print out the above mentioned Chapters.
But he kinda looked at the papers, with kinda a blank stare, that i actually printed them out... he never did give me an answer, he just kept repeating that they are illegal, then he asked me if i had taken my lights off, I said "Uh.... NO", then i told he to stop wasting my time and mark on the damn sheet "Not Guilty"
Now I have to go back for a real trial on June 3rd I think....
Now a number of things can happen...
-The cop doesn't show up to testify... boom, dismissed
-The cop shows up and says he doesn't remember or he "thinks" he remembers... boom, dismissed
(how many peeps has he pulled over since he pulled me over on March 24th.... March 24th to June 3rd is a LONG timefor him to remember)
- Or me and my kick *** lawyer go in there and tear that place up!!!!!!!!!!

Rep Power: 0 I heard you could have them on while you're driving as long as they're not red or blue. Because somebody might think it's a cop. I haven't actually checked for sure though.

Rep Power: 0 thats the reason ive heard, that people will mistake the lights for a cop ok lets see
1) LED washer, small light, if mistaken for a cop--------YOU R A RETARD!!
2) those little tire lights that flash when wheel is spinning, if mistaken for a cop-------YOU R A RETARD!!
3) neon lights under the car that when ignited create the appearance as if the vehicle is lifting off into out space, if mistaken for a cop--------YOU R A RETARD AND SHOULD BE PULLED OUT OF YOUR CAR AND THROWN IN JAIL CAUSE ITS OBVIOUS UR EYES HAVE DETERIORATED SO BADLY THAT U HAVE NO!! IDEA WHAT THE HELL IS APPROACHING YOU FROM THE REAR!! AND R AN ENDANGERMENT TO OTHER DRIVERS!!
You know what.....now that i think about it....i mistake civics for crown vic's ALL the time, especially when i see a car when PULSATING red/blue lights on top of it, usually blaring a siren/horn.....i think to myself "WOW!! that civic is PHAT!!"

stupid rule....

Rep Power: 319 Plus if they try and use the "its distracting towards other drivers"
-don't look at it
-They are no more distracting than trying to read bumper stickers, or the sides of buses
- or cell phones
Don't worry i have a case!!!!!!!

Rep Power: 0 I recently put the Street Glow Gold Series neons on my car (green neons on Silver Coupe) and I havent had any problems with cops. All i know is that in Ohio it is illegal to have a combination of red and blue neons. Too similiar to the flashing lights on police cars. In fact, I drove past a statey and a sheriff tonight and didnt get any trouble for them being on.

They can't fade my style Hope you win your case. I wanted to ask a cop if it was legal but didn't want them 2 write me a ticket right there!
SILVERCIVIC01: I have RS6's also....I love em'..they look great on our cars but a lot of others have them is only downside. Just my $0.02

Rep Power: 0 I plan to get Orange (I'll chose to call them "Amber") Colored neons. I know for a fact that orange is a legal all around color for any car. So even though its neon, but orange, would that be legal? I would think so... I live in Texas too by the way (Dallas)

Rep Power: 0 Blingin, you are exactly right, here in Ohio, you cannot have a combo of both red AND blue, but you can have one or the other. LOL, I have a family friend who is a sheriff helping me put blue under car strobes on in a few weeks, just to see if the highway patrol will pull me over for them, lol, cause I drive on 270 a lot, but he is givin me some, i'm a family member of a cop, just give me a warning card thingy, i dunno, its weird, lol, he just said he will keep me from getting a ticket. anyways, i've been pulled over by a local cop for my LED washers, but, the color blind maniac thought my white ones were blue, LOL

Rep Power: 0 I live in alabama and it's not illegal to drive with them on here. In florida, however, you can't drive with any blue lights on your car. They say the only people that can drive with blue lights are cops. Not even the fireman. I know this because a cop told me while i was sitting on the side of the road watching my car get searched after being pulled over for this very thing.
