Best Online parts sources?
Best Online parts sources?
Hi. Just got my first civic (96 sedan dx) and I want to get some after market parts for it, like shifter ****, head & lights, etc. Will be doing some engine mods later.
Please let me know your recommendations for online parts sources. I am looking for sites that are reliable, goo dprices and have a large selection.
Thanks.

Re: Best Online parts sources?
If your in prague a lot of the sources we have for parts are based in North America and that would make shipping very expensive.
Corsport.com
Energysuspensionparts.com
Dezod.com
Passwordjdm.com
Blackworksracing.com
Theretrofitsource.com
and for parts that are entirely cosmetic like a shift ****, headlights, foglights or lips ebay is my choice.

Depends on what part you get. Different places have great prices on different things
Like eBay is good for lips, headlights, body parts, etc.

Re: Best Online parts sources?
Shipping cost is not an issue. For now I am looking for a shifter ****, head and tail lights (the actual assemblies, not just bulbs) and maybe a cold air intake.
Searching around I have found sportcompactonly.com and procivic.com, neither of which seem to have a very large selection.
Also, I was wondering what some of the better brands are for head and tail light assemblies. I remember APC was pretty big back in the day, but their quality was crap. Who makes good ones these days?

How the heck did nobody mention www.rockauto.com ?
Not for performance upgrades and mods or anything like that (not gonna find a CAI or anything), but for a lot of mechanical parts, RockAuto has great prices.

We recently opened our new online performance auto parts store at http://fluidmotorunion.rpmware.com
We're trying to bring in customers which means we will have the lowest prices. Give us a try and if you're in the Chicagoland area, check out our shop.

Rockauto had the best prices, so I used them for some things. What a mistake! Nothing but problems over and over. So actually they become the most expensive place when all said and done.
I do not know where they are getting their parts from but I was getting returned junk from 1998, wrong parts in boxes, tried to get replacements and those were junk. Put the rear drums on and after I get it on I notice the adjuster was for the wrong side. More work and time. Had to start getting stuff local to finish.

Couple of the places I use for online parts.
www.passwordjdm.com
www.jhpusa.com
www.xsrezone.com
Used all 3 in the past several times and always had great service.

Rockauto is not one giant stockhouse located in one location. It's made up of multiple warehouses throughout the country. It's similar to Maaco. Many people have heard horror stories about them, but the location near my house has won numerous awards and ranks high in customer service. I think the paint job on my old car was spectacular for the price, but I digress. The parts I ordered from Rockauto came brand new from a storehouse in the Bronx. That's how they ship so quickly and inexpensively. Again though not for upgrading, it's just stock aftermarket replacements.
