I have been thinking about getting some new tail lights for my 02 Coupe. I want some LED ones and found these on EBAY, does anyone have these do you like them, have you had any problems with the LED's? My Civic is an 02, titanium metallic, limo tint, smoke fog lights, black TYC head lamps, dark gray wheels I am kind of leaning towards the black right now but having a hard time deciding wanted to get some opinions.

i vote for none of those cheap ebay tail lights what are you going to do when the cheap LEDs start to burn out and it looks stupid ???. what you should do is keep your stock tail lights and get some good quality LED bulbs. here are some good online stores

Re: Which LED tail lights? poll inside
the only bulbs even worth mentioning are the ELEF korean led bulbs (elefia.com, elef-usa.com) with a single hi power led. i have the 5w version as a turn signal which uses genuine osram diamond dragon 200 lumen smt, not some generic chinese leds. and even then, i had to change the lens in the front with a focusing K2 optic. the result is more intense light than filament bulb, and the heatsink ensures they last forever.

filament park lights are on for comparison. turn signal is red osram led bulb

I like 1 and 3. 2 are hideous. Personally I say simple and clean is the best look. I would just polish up the stock ones or get something that doesn't look like it came off a spaceship. Jsut my .02

i like sniperscout's diy blacked out version too. i think they started out as the red clear ones with all red except clear in the middle, then he painted parts of it black. i dont think it would work on lighter color cars tho.

Thanks for the input guys, this is what I wanted to hear so they are cheap and the LED's burn out? Is there any good LED's out or like earlier posted just get good LED bulbs?

the leds are pretty good in those particular tails (square superflux style). i wouldnt worry about them burning for a long time. and they are very bright as well.

unless you want to spend a ton of money, stick with the ebay tails. the leds i used for the signal are $50 each, plus $5 optic, plus misc supplies and cutting up the housing to make em fit the hole and gluing in place. and since the brake bulbs go in at an angle, i wont be able to do those with leds on the sedan. but if youre still interested get a cheap broken oem tail light on ebay and first see if the bulb sockets are straight. then you can order some led bulbs and try to make em fit.

Re: Which LED tail lights? poll inside
Yeah I read about that and found this from Gearbox on the subject.
"load resistor is a bad idea because you negate all the power saving benefit from actually having leds instead of filament bulbs. the turn signal hyperflash is super easy to fix the proper way. go get a tridon EP34 or equivalent electronic/LED flasher relay from auto store and swap it out for the oem one in the under-dash fusebox. i have rear filament signals, but full led front and side signals and i have the normal blink speed. if i end up putting back those depo led tails, i will prolly throw in a rear led signal assembly too without worry.
as for the led brake lights and cruise, diemaster already came up with a great idea for that as well. very simple resistor for the cruise module will fix it. and if you have the oem filament bulb in the 3rd brake assembly, there should be no problem. the fix is really only for those with a led spoiler or the 8thgen led lamp assembly swap AND led tails."
So for right now I am going to try the brake lights and the backup lights and leave the other two and see if the cruise works.

Does anyone have the TYC stock 05 replacement tails? Do they closely match the OEM's? Are they good quality? I can't find a decent price on used 05's around $150 used. I can get them new for $190 the TYC's are like $130 shipped, thinking about just buying new but if the TYC's are good I can save some $.

Re: Which LED tail lights? poll inside
the quality is terrible. at least with my sedan tails from 04-05. the aftermarket oem style part has a poor chrome finish, different (bad) reflectors for the bulbs, dark red tinted plastic instead of oem red-orange, and a bunch of other issues. oh yeah, it would not even fit on the car! there was a huge gap on one side. luckily it was only 1 of the 4 pieces and i ordered an oem piece from the dealer to match the rest. and yeah, it fit together perfectly. so yes, definately stick with oem honda for lighting.
