ABS Plastic vs Polyurethane

I'm having a little dilemma -__-

ok sooo i want a full lip kit and i decided to go on ebay for them...im deff going to be getting the Mugen front lip and the regular sides or whatever

BUT

rear lips only come with front lips on ebay and the only mugen front/rear kit are ABS plastic...

they do have Polyurethane mugen fronts BUT does not come with a rear lip

darn

so my question here is, does it make that much of a difference if the product is ABS Plastic or PU?

should i just go with the PU mugen front and find the rear somewhere else?

also all the pics are the same...how would i tell the difference? what if the seller is lying and its really ABS? lol

poly-u is good because its extremely flexible, basically you can bend the lip in half almost and it wont crack or distort. abs is much more rigid and cannot be bent much, but its still a good plastic that takes paint well and should not crack over time unless you crash into something lol. its fiberglass that always gets a bad wrap since it cracks from every little impact.

Re: ABS Plastic vs Polyurethane

thanks gearbox, helpful as always lol

so ABS is good enough that its not even worth to skip out on the rear lip for a PU front lip?

abs is fine for lips and exterior parts. it has good chip resistance and will not deform in the sun or crack. ive had my altezza grill which is abs for many years and it still looks nearly new.

Re: ABS Plastic vs Polyurethane

thanks mann appreciate the info...

yeah my altezza grill is also ABS plastic but just wanted to confirm that it wouldnt be a problem as a lip since its lower to the ground and more prone to getting hit (ex. ditches, speedbumps)

Re: ABS Plastic vs Polyurethane

when you go to a specific forum

for example: Member's Rides, or DIY's and Tech

there should be a button on the top left that says Post New Thread
