K20 in your 2k1?

Thats right..for all you HYBRID heads. HASport is coming out with quality motor mounts that lets the K20 series engines from teh RSX and new SI slap right into your Civic.
The mounts are expected to be released around Late July - Early August. I WILL BE CARRYING THEM!!!!
I was so excited about this, finally the 2k1 wont be slow.

Ohhh, alot of other cool stuff coming out.
Shocks - Bilstein actually has something in development. Abd KYB said September is their new date.

ooooh new motor mounts! will they make 2k1's faster even if i install them without the RSX engine?
i was led to believe that there are A LOT of probs with fittin a k20 in our cars. Someone told me that if you were to want a k20 in our cars, you would basically have to take the entire front of a RSX or Si and throw it on our cars. Also, yeah you can probably fit that engine in there, but will you lose AC and power steering? Thats the question. Let me know if im wrong or not.
I think if youre going to get the K20A you have to get the engine, tranny and axle since it turns the opposite direction from the D17A. The RSX engine bay is pretty much the same as ours, so I think there wouldn't be that many problems, but I think htown could answer this question better since he has more experience with it than any of us.

OK..well they explained that.
The 2k1 swap would require the motor, tranny, and neccesary linkages and axles. Just like anyother swap that is done today. But he did ensure that the A/C and all OEM components are left untouched and in working order. He had a 2002 Si w/ the K20A2 (190 HP) from an Acura RXS TypeS. Look extremely clean , and I was impressed.
I will take pics when they do come out and you guys will be the first to be notified.

I'm kind of curious as to what HASport is selling as a "motor mount kit." The engine mounts for the RSX and 7thgen Civic are identical, but you will have to relocate everything in the engine bay because the K series motor sits on the opposite side as the D series motor. ECU connection wirings were the big stumbling block for Carboy, but ImportBuilders says they have it all figured out. If HASport can make a bolt-in kit that solves all the wiring difficulties and lets people keep the A/C, then more power to them.
From my talks with ImportBuilders, they could not guarantee that I would be able to keep the A/C after the swap is complete. I guess we will find out for sure after I bring my car down to Fullerton and they actually do the work.

why cant u just take the AC system from the RSX and put that in.. are the chassis for the RSX and 7th gen coupes exactly the same? if it is.. the AC and everything else in the RSX engine bay would fit perfectly into place?
the other thing you guys arent calculating in is the price of the engine. I have heard that for a new k20 engine, its like 6000-9000 grand. Thanks, but no thanks, i would rather get all custom sh*t (turbo, pistons, etc.) for my motor then to go through the headache of tryin to fit a k20 in our cars, unless my pricing is wrong. let me know.
I have found a k20 for 2500. Not tellin anybody where though. I need it.
NO AC? its all good, i dont really use my ac anyways( just got used to not having it in my truck or jeep) and it's hella hot here on a regular basis.

thats what i expected. I think it would be wise to do the following two things: One, you guys wait to do an engine swap for the prices of new and used engines comes down. Two, say screw that to the engine swap all together and just put that money into you d17. Believe for 6 grand, you can put a lot of parts into your engine to get it up to par. Even for that money you can get sh*t fabricated for our engines. that my own opinion though.

K20A2? or A3? For that price, I'm guessing K20A3..........either way, hope you win it.
where could one acquire a k20? do you just have to be lucky and find one from a crashed rsx? if mounts come out, ill do it for sure!!! to smoke an rsx with a 7th gen would be orgasmic!!!
if i had that money i agree with the other guy who would put the 6 grand into the D17, or i'd go get my WRX finally. i do hope the swap goes well, it will eventually get easier, prices will drop, and kits will come out. give it a few years and we'll get anything we want for our cars.
just got off the phone with HASport. and i wont believe it if i saw it but supposedly they are making a motor mount kit for our cars. They told me its gonna be another 2 months for it though. Also, i asked him if ill be able to keep my power steering and ac. He said that ac is a definite yes and they still dont know about power steering. I would love to have a 2k1 with 200hp, but lets see what actually happens.

umm yeah my girlfriends uncle has a RSX type S for now cause he is on some waiting list for some bad @$$ benz, and he said that when he is finished that he would make me a deal for it. he paid cash for it. so he is thinking about early wedding gift for me and girlfriend. swap the motor and part out the RSX. i think that it would be more cool to have a 2k2 civic with type s motor that kick butt. everybody wanna race slow civic but little do they know that they get done up the rear with the type s under the hood ohhh yeahhh. come and get some if you can handle it
Hey Tom, if you want to try it out first do it to my car
ok first: I would rather spend 6 grand on a new engine and stuff cause then you will have 200hp stock, instead of spending 6 grand on custom turbos and everything, cause then you are already pushing the engine. But a new engine with the same kind of numbers that is stock...then new cams, cam gears, throttle body, exhaust...whatever. Its all extra stuff that isnt straining the engine as much as a turbo D17.
Second: Ok, even if you do the engine swap...what about the weight issue? How much heavier will my front end be? How bad will that effect my handling? i dont want to be just a straight line car like all the domestics out there. i want all around performance.
