Rep Power: 0 What brands of rims tend to be heavy?
Hola -
I have heard from people, especially on this site, that rim weight is very important when buying rims, in order to not screw up your odo, MPG, and acceleration. I want to know, what brands of rims or specific models of rims are particularly heavy?

Rep Power: 0 Konigs tend to be on the heavy side accept for a few models. Basically, all the real popular rims you see are pretty darn heavy. You really don't see a lot of light-weight rims because they are hella expensive for the most part. Konig makes the helium which only comes in 15in and weighs 11 1/2lbs. Rota makes several light weight rims that are relatively inexpensive. If you want a high-quality, light-weight wheel, you are going to pay for it. I am currently looking at the Volk TE37. It weighs just under 9lbs for a 15x6 inch rim and cost around $1300 for a set.
The weight will affect your acceleration and gas mileage. It won't throw off the speedometer, that results from a wheel/ tire combo that is bigger than stock in diameter.
