Canadian Manufactured 98 Civic LX - Dead Alternator

Hello, I am new to the Civic forums so forgive me I miss some critical information. I am in the process of fixing my alternator which died on me 2 days ago. My car was manufactured in Canada with a CND manufactured alternator. Now That it is time to replace the Alternator I am wondering if USA fitted alternator (which are cheaper and much more readily available)will actually sit flush and all the various connectors will work. I have always wondered what the heck is the difference between a CND and USA alternator and why is the CND always more expensive? If anyone has any experience/knowledge on the subject I would greatly appreciate it.

I just bought the American one. One has 4 plug adapter and one has 3. Extra corrosive adhesive on Cdn.
