2009 DX-VP Center Console and Scuffing
I have an Atomic Blue 4-Door 2009 DX-VP sedan. I got it in late May to replace my blue foor door 1993 Civic DX with 203,000 miles on it.
I noticed that there will be considerable scuffing on the side of the center console where the seat belt buckle rubs against it. I am talking about the receptacle that is affixed to the seat. I am looking for a simple solution. Currently I have a terry cloth hanging down the side of the console to separate the seat buckle from the hard plastic on the side of the console.
But I would like to find a better solution. Preferably one that does not include gluing some cockamamie fabric or texture to the seat belt buckle. But if someone has a surefire way to do that I would appreciate it. I wanted to modify one of the shoulder pads for the seat belt but they simply lacked the girth to fit around the female buckle piece.
Note that on the DX-VP the buckle piece is slightly different on the passenger side- it appears to have a longer neck and is held in place by a band. I presume the difference between the seat belt buckle can be attributed to the elevating driver's seat.
--------------------------
Also- the center console of the DX-VP is a bit odd in that it is totally open. Is there an aftermarket lid? Or is it possible to totally swap out the DX-VP center console and replace it with an LX or EX center console.
