96 civic tb and mani's

i am new to honda tuning, i have a 96 civic ex. i don't wanna do a swap or turbo since i already have a turbo project. i was wondering what the first mods are that i should do. its a 1.6 sohc vtec d16y8.

you're not going to get any power out of that motor unless you boost it.

don't waste your money, seriously. you're gonna spend 600-1000 on "the basics" when you could have been a third of the way or so to a good turbo setup. just save and turbo it, or save and swap.

thats just it... he doesnt wanna swap or turbo... i mean hes asking for the basics... tru turbo might be the better way but he really asked for an alternative to turbo and swap....

those are no alternative to a turbo or swap. i mean you can put those things on, but the power to cost ratio is not even close to even. you'd be better off dumping money into suspension.

well i already have a crazy turbo project well under way, i just bought this car cause its reliable cheap and good on gas. its a daily driver. the only thing is, it doesn't have enough power for what i like, i just want it to be somewhat quick and still maintain reliability. i do agree though if i was going to make this my race car i would turbo. im already 10 grand deep into my turbo project though.i was thinking of doing a itb setup cause i would be able to make one really cheap but i heard that it reduces power unless u have a heavily modded engine. this may be true but im a turbo guy and always think more air more power.what do u think?
