well there are a couple of options. First off, the steering wheel itself would be an easy switch, but here comes the tricky part.
1. 7thgen = Dual Stage, ITR = Single Stage
2. Take EP3 airbag assembly and swap it into the ITR grip
3. I've heard of people using a resistor for the second stage wiring and it working that
way.
4. Just swap it and be done, who cares about the airbag, lol

do what i did. it's easy, but most people dont have the ***** to do it. unbolt your stock detonator, unbolt the old detonator. swap them. done. the 7thgen detonator is NOT a direct fit as the backing to it is too large and will require you to bend the horn tab on the ep3 horn bracket. if you have a usdm ep3 or dc5 bag you can swap it straight up with no problems. I basically forced mine to work. the wheel i had had a damaged bag, but the cover was 100% intact. so i unpacked it and put my oem detonator in there for one reason: I wanted to keep the airbag system functional. Not for myself, but for my passanger. Screwed up logic, but whatever. the way i see it, my passanger shouldnt have to suffer the consequences of me wanting a 'prettier' steering wheel.
