VAFC does not work on our car. You need VAFCII.

You can tune the air/fuel, but not the vtec..... on VAFC

a vafc should still turn on even if only the power is connected... if you are using the vafc only for a/f tune then it should still work.. otherwise if you wanted to use it for the vtec you would need a few resistor parts from radio shack to make it work... u better check your wires cause it sounds like you connected something wrong...

well.. try this.. connect ONLY the ground and positive wires.... make sure you dont connect the power..

make sure the red and orange wires are connected at 2 different points on the positive wire and not in the same place..

make sure the orange wire is closest to the ecu

make sure the black and brown wire are on the right ground wire.. if not then it could go wrong...

make sure the brown wire is closest to the ecu

i also have attached a wiring diagram of how it should be wired from my webpage server... match these up to the wiring of your ecu... if its not the same that might explain your problem....

http:/www.xproductionz.com/uploads/vafc.pdf

wire everything up except the vtec cause theres more stuff involved to it if you are using the first vafc
