Advice on painting chrome trims.
Hey guys
I got a 2001 civic sedan and I want to paint the front and rear chrome pieces on the hood and trunk to match my car (dark blue)
What would be the best way to do this? Is there any sort of prep that must be done? Sand it ? Prime ? Or should I just paint right on top of it?
Also where can I get matching spray paint to do this ?
Thanks in advance.

um... its not going to look good because its going to be very reflective.
do yourself a favor and go to the dealership and buy the hood and trunk strips off the later model sedans; they already come painted to match the car and are not chrome.

^^^ just because you paid $20 doesnt mean he'll pay the same to get the peices painted. besides, for what he might be paying, he might already be able to buy the trim peices from the dealership...

I doubt the dealer will sell me 2 brand new trim pieces for $20 bucks...
$20 bucks is a damn good price for them to paint them, did you sand them yourself ? Or did they do everything ?

I sanded them myself, which is why it was only 20 bucks. I've had atleast five or six different batches of paint for various things on the car and they all blend. prepainted OEM kit, metal trims, headlights painted w/ OEM spray match, bumpers, etc. and everything flows, as long as they use the code and know what they're doing, you should be fine
