hey i've kept seeing this thing in Euro tuning mags since 98, but haven't heard of anything like this in the US/canada
it's basically an electronic contraption that turns off your altenator when 3/4 throttle or more is used to reduce altenator drain and on a 1.9 pug gti that they tested on i think it was back in 98 it gained 8 hp which was pretty decent.
and it's smart enough tor ealize that if you're 3/4 all the time and your battery starts taking a hit it'll re-engage the altenator
