HP Header installed
I put my HP Header on today. Was not a easy task. Had to remove and modify front motor mount, and remove other small components on the front to get it in. I found out that my moter mount was no good. the rubber peice was not attached any more, so i have ordered a new one. The header will not fit without modifying the front motor mount. I beleive I was the first to order this header, and I will be contacting HP tommorow on this, they may not realize that that the header will not fit. But the gains are real, a little at midrange , then it really starts producing power at 5700 and up. Check HERE for the header for $275 and the axleback exhaust, which I also have on order, can't remember the price, but it was $255 shipped, the header adds about $30 for shipping.
ALSO- This header will fit ANY 2001-2002 Civic

You had to modify the motor mount? Whoa! Why? Did it rub up against it or something? I can't imagine why?

Good to here from you again "B"...and glad you purchased the HP before me!!!!!....but sorry the thing didn't fit properly.....which motor mount are you refering and what kinda modifications did you have to make......take some pictures bro!..Later
I had the same problem with my del sol HP header that I had to fabricate mounts for. These are the reasons I think DC is worth the money, even if it isn't a "full" header. But then again, you got it on and working and now u have real power gains, so congrats! Peace
Glad someone bought the HP header
That sux that you had to modify the motor mount. Does anyone know if installing the header's still legal? I heard the header's not CARB legal but for me, as long as it'll pass emissions in Va (almost as hard as Ca) i'd be down for gettin one.

doh forget to ask my question. how loud is your car now with the new header?(i dont want ppl few blocks away hear me coming) did you have both the header and axis back exhuast install on your car at the same time?

The mount that is modified is the front mount (more of a dampner than a mount, not load bearing). Just had to notch it for the header to fit. There is noticable power at midrange, it just really kicks *** at high-end. It is supposed to be worth 14 Horses. It sounds a little louder than my intake (aem Cai), but not as loud as a full exhaust, but I should be receiving the exhaust today. I will contact HP today, all they need to do is move over the left hand tube a little further to clear the mount, don't get me wrong, this is a excellent header, just let the guys at HP get the bugs worked out.

Stainless in not an option for us to purchase...that I've found.....only thing we can buy is ceramic or chromed mild steel...please advise if stainless is an option?.....BTW, have you called HP yet to inform them....my purchase is just around the corner......peace bro!
Just order my HP-Racing race header/w high flow cat from group buy. They told my that HP only offer Chrome polish/Ceramic coated for now. But all they have avaliable in stock is the chrome, so I said what the heck, just order it, but I preferred the ceramic coat for thermal heat sinks and long life. Can't wait for the part comes. Oh, by the way, 01CivicEX Thanks for the info man, very glad to here from the 1st hand HP race header installer said it is the true gain 10 hp, very nice. Hey can you post pictures and steps for DIY on this? We love to get the tech info.

New one, may be chrome plated, didnt pay much attention, holding up to heat very good though. I will get some pics tommorow, and I would advise getting a new donut gasket from honda if you have miles on your car, mine sprung a leak, it looked a little rough when I put it in, so I will be ordering a new one.

Meaning I could slap it on my LX? Do headers make a differance when they come to coupe/sedan and manual/auto?
Also, would I be able to pass emitions in California with that header on my ride (Auto LX sedan)?
