Non-Limo Tint Civic Owners, HELP

I live in VA, and the darkest legal transparency in the front side windows is 50% and 35% in the back side windows and rear. I'd like to keep a homogenous colored tint all around, so I'm opting for 50% light transmissive tint all around. I know it's not "cool" to have tint that light, but I just wanna avoid the hassle of cops and "fix it" tickets.

I've heard that at 50% transmission, windows with "reflective" tint are harder to peer through with the human eye than windows with traditional "smoked" tint. This being because a person peering through a reflective window must focus on both the image behind the window and his/her own reflection, as opposed to a "smoked" window in which he/she only has to focus on the image behind the window.

I've searched high and low on this forum, but for the life of me I can't find anybody with 50% light transmissive tint that is REFLECTIVE.

Anybody ever see windows with 50% tint that is reflective? What's your take on them?

I have eternal blue pearl coupe. What do you guys think works best given these strict tint laws in VA with that car?

Bonus: if you got pics, I'd love to see them.

Thanks in Advance,

I have never been a big fan of the reflective tint unless its on a silver car, and thats only sometimes. I think, as low as it may be, 50% smoke will look alot better.

Hey I live in Va also and I have an 03 SSM with 35% Platinum-Plus Mirror tint all the way around.(which is the most reflective mirror tint on tha market). But its 100% crystal clear, not green like most mirror tint is. And ive never had a problem with it. Its really noticeable when its cloudy and at dawn. But at night you can see right through it like you dont have tint at all. Now even though you have blue pearl paint it would still look good I think. But I hope Ive helped you.

I've yet to meet someone in No VA who got a ticket for tint. I'd just 35 it all the way around and gamble on it. Unless you're acting like a ********, I bet you won't get busted, although you'll have to pull the fronts off and redo them everytime the car is up for inspection.

i dunno how easy it is to change the front windows in a civic, but one of my boys bought some front windows off some guy parting out his car. he just switches them back and forth when he has to get inspected. easier then taking the tint on and off all the time i guess.

and just from my personal experience (i don't live in nova, but i've been there like every summer the past 3,4 years) cops in VA come out of nowhere. if it were me, i think i'd be scared to get tint too dark. but maybe i'm just a wimp. heh.

All tint is illegal in Michigan where I live. I have 20% all the way around on my NHBP Civic and it looks pretty damn dark sometimes (probably because the cars black). I've had it for almost 4 years and only got hasseled once, I was doing 20 over and got pulled over, he was letting me off on the speeding but he was like 'just so you dont get away scott free I'm gonna wright you a fix it for your tint" Its up to you, 20% is a good number IMO, not too dark where it sucks driving at night but not soo light that it does nothing in the day.

is it different from city to city? my understanding of michigan law, you can do 35 in the back and a 4in. strip from the top in the front.

I would not believe any thing about tint laws on the net, call up your local police station and ask.

that is my thinking...u want a similar tint all the way around....35% will be fine. and as boilermaker said....don't be a ******** and they won't hassle you

25% on my Ex coupe.... no problems, Gaithersburg MD. I agree with Gear Box I think the reflective looks kind of cheap. My tint costed around $160 thats both driver side front/rear, passenger front/rear, and rear windshield.

I have 20% all around. Perfect IMO. The color is called "Nighthawk". It looks awesome. I paid $125.
