I just got a 02 EX as my first car, and was wondering what are some tools I should have (for general maintenance, oil changes, and maybe the DIY black headlights)?

Rep Power: 389 I would have to say that the type of tools you need in your set would be....
- Torgue Wrench
- Metric Socket set w/ extenders
- Wire strippers
- Pry bar
- Screw drivers

Rep Power: 400 Buy craftsman... you only need to buy them once (lifetime warranty)
There's no lifetime on the clicky torque wrenches, but I've found the Pittsburgh brand ones from www.harborfreighttools.com to be more than effective for $20. I wouldn't do motor work with it, but its perfect for the basics.

BTW, I also had never done any hands-on service with cars until I bought my 7thgen. I have done everything on my car, myself.

i got a set of ramps thinking it would be cool for oil changes, but even at stock height w/ no front lip kit the car wouldn't make the slope... the front bumper would hit the slope before the wheels made it up.
so i ended up getting a racing jack w/ a couple of hefty jackstands.

Rep Power: 286 listen, snapon is good but prices are rediculous, you only need to get snapon if you earn a living with these tools otherwise craftsman is perfect. also mac is real good and matco is alright...
actually i got a ton of extra tools just sitting in my carry along tool box because i bought a set for my work and a set for school and got lots of the same things lol stupid me. pm me sometime and ill see about a price if your interested (its craftsman stuff mostly)
p.s. these arent just my opinions its what ive also heard from dozens of people with decades upon decades in the industry and its also my personal experience plus craftsman you just drive to sears and finish the job that night if a tool brakes.......snap-on NOPE.
