Hood Damage Engine?

ok, im in to the market of buying a new hood, preferably carbon fiber, i found this one on ebay, $250 and $38 shipping, good deal i suppose http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

one question, if water gets into the vent, could i harm the engine, its a kinda dumb question, but if water gets in the vent when it rains, could it posibly get into my intake's filter?

not likely. Rain water isnt really harmful, unless it is sucked up in LARGE quantities, like running through a very deep puddle.

prolly won't do much, at least not as bad as the large vents in the other hoods. You can always make a cover to put so it seals out the rain. But yea I wouldn't want water coming in altho a little splash on the filter won't matter.

ok, cuz the filter is probly gonna be about a foot away from the vent, im thinkin it should be fine, the reason why im gettin a new hood is cuz i was washing it one day and my lil brother (6 years old) was being gay and took the hose from me i went to grab it and he threw it over my head and it landed on the hood of my car, left a baseball size dent and a 3 inch long scratch, pissed me off, and it hurts to see that on my car every day, need it to be gone
