How do I go about matching color for my SSM. I want to paint some pieces for the ext. of the car.
Can some help me out and match a color or brand, so i know what to look for.

go to www.paintscratch.com
you can get factory paint and clearcoat in aerosol cans. as long as you take your time and do multiple light coats the match is unbelievable. i used thier stuff to color match the interior products on my old truck.

Hmmm, I was always under the assumption you could take the part to a car paint place and say match this to my car, and they grab the color code off your car and match it.. it'd be funny if that wasen't true.. I've never had anytihng painted.

if you go to napa and get them to give you your paint code color in an aerosol can it costs just as much. the process to put it in an aerosol can is what is costly, but it allows you to do it yourself even if you don't have a compressor and paint gun or previous auto paint experience.
anyway, it was just a suggestion.

My advice is good luck. I haven't found anything that matches the color my car was painted. I've tried Honda SSM and VSM, Duplicolor and a couple of the other brands and everything is too dark. I tried them with a few chips in a friend's Civic, they were too light. It seems they have a lot of variation in the paint code, not to mention silver is nearly impossible to get perfect, then add the fun of the metallic flake.

The biggest problem with spray cans is the paint is mostly thinner to get it to spray!
Find a bud with a compressor, buy some paint from an autobody supply house, and paint!!

silver is a VERY hard color to match, a lot of body shops have trouble matching it perfectly. also, Honda has about 5 different shades of silver they use and when you add in the fading that happens over a couple years its almost impossible to perfectly mix the SSM so it'll match, a body shop will have to blend it to make it perfect.
my suggestion is to take it to a professional shop and let them do it if you want it to look nice.
